The University of the Third Age - Why Not Join Us?

Wrexham u3a is one of a network of over 1,000 local u3a's across the UK.  Membership is aimed at those no longer in full-time work or raising a family, although there is no minimum age.  The aim is to encourage groups of people to come together and continue their enjoyment in learning about subjects of interest to them or engaging in different sport and activities and in so doing, meeting new people and making new friends. There are about 400,000 members nationally and Wrexham u3a has around 350.

Day Trips, Meals out, Members Meetings and over 50 Groups.
Welcome to Wrexham U3a
About our u3a

Wrexham u3a has been developing since it's beginnings in 2006. As with all u3a's, it is entirely voluntary and run by a small committee drawn from within the membership. We charge £15 a year membership, renewable in April/May.

There is a monthly meeting open to all members, held in Wrexham Memorial Hall where news and notices are given out and a speaker of general interest gives a talk.

Wrexham u3a has around 50 special interest groups running at any one time, some running on long term, others time-limited.  They are all sizes from 6 to 46, covering a wide range of subjects and activities and meet all over Wrexham in places ranging from church halls (where there may be a small charge to cover the venue hire) to members' homes.

We also arrange events that are open to all members. Examples include a Summer Treasure Hunt, Christmas Lunch, Theatre Trips and Day Trips by coach to places like RHS Bridgewater and Haddon Hall

Non-members are allowed to go to a group for a 'taster' before joining the u3a.
